How to Get to Versailles from Paris
The Palace of Versailles is situated just 12 miles southwest of Paris, but navigating your way there can be a bit challenging without some guidance.
By Train: Hop on the RER C line to Versailles Château Rive Gauche, the nearest station to the palace. From there, it’s just a 10-minute walk. Trains run every 15 minutes and the journey takes about 35–45 minutes.
By Bus: Catch Bus 171 from Pont de Sèvres (Metro Line 9), which drops you off right outside the palace gates. It’s a budget-friendly option, though slower than the train.
By Taxi: For a more convenient (but pricier) option, taxis cost around €50–€70 each way and take you directly to the entrance.
By Motorcycle: Yes, you heard that right! Experience the journey in style with our Half-Day Versailles Tour by Sidecar Motorcycle, taking you straight to the gates.
Fun Tip: Versailles has three train stations, but only one is close to the palace. Choose the wrong one, and you might find yourself on a 30+ minute trek!
